Snapping plates with ghost connectors

June 10, 2025 Bits and Bytes, News

Did you know you can now snap duct fittings with plates?

Most duct fittings have two or more connectors that allow users to snap together their 3D takeoffs; however, this is not the case for fittings with plates, which only have one connector. With only one connector, these fittings could not be used in 3D takeoffs—until now.

In our latest release, the 3D Takeoff Builder now supports snappable duct fittings with plates by using a “ghost connector” on the bottom of the plate. This means users can now snap fittings with plates to the duct, and the “ghost connector” ensures only one connector on the fitting is sent to the CAM software.
